Common questions

What is Culture Pass?

A program that gives NYPL, BPL, and QPL cardholders free admission to 100+ museums and cultural institutions across NYC. Reserve online, show your library card at the door.

How do I get a library card?

Visit any NYPL, Brooklyn Public Library, or Queens Public Library branch with a photo ID and proof of NYC residency. Takes 5 minutes. It's free.

What is IDNYC?

New York City's free municipal ID card. Beyond identification, it gives you free 1-year memberships at major museums, discounts at local businesses, and access to special programs.

Can I really get into the Met for free?

Yes. As a NY State resident, you can pay what you wish for admission — including $0. Just show your NY State ID at the admissions desk.
